Understanding basic Java Language and features using Eclipse IDE
- Installation of JDK and Eclipse IDE – Setup of Java and IDE infrastructure
- Introduction to Java, jdk and jvm concepts- Understanding Java concept , compilation, byte code and execution through the JVM architecture
- Basic Java programming, looping, control structures – Using Java for basic programming and loop programming, exposure to control structures
- Introduction to OOPs and OOPs implementation in Java : Basic concepts of OOPS and understanding Java as an OOP language.
- Understanding Inheritance, Overloading and polymorphism – Deeper dive into OOP features of Java and Leveraging OOP features in Java such as inheritance, overloading, polymorphism, encapsulation etc.
- Working with Collections and Exceptions – Using java Collections to achieve efficient programming. Understanding the Exception programming model
Web Application Programming -Servlets and JSP
- Introduction to J2EE – Introduction to Enterprise Java understanding the various components.
- Installation of Tomcat and IDE integration: Setup of java web application server and integration into the IDE
- Understanding web application structures : Web application structure, configuration and understanding the deployment procedure
- Servlet Programming –Programming web applications using Servlets and understanding the servlet architecture and lifecycle
- Parameter passing & Session Tracking – Advanced concepts of servlet programming on parameter passing and session programming
- JSP programming - Introduction to JSP and basic JSP programming
- JSP Directives, Expressions and Scriptlets – Using JSP syntax in directives , expressions and scriptlets to achieve view and logic separation
- MVC programming :Design pattern implementation using Servlet and JSP
- Database Connectivity : Connectivity to Databases using JDBC and understanding JDBC API

Attendance
Good Attendance is imperative in order to keep up with your classes and to maintain good standing in school. Since this institution is a business college, we encourage students to always conduct themselves in a professional manner and develop a positive attitude toward consistent attendance that can be carried with them in to the business community. Absences should be documented in writing upon the first day of return.

Assignments/Projects/Exams
All school work activities/exercises and reading assignments are to be done as per instructors orders, and will be due upon request. All tests are timed and must be completed within the specified time given.
- Make up work will be accepted, without penalty, with and excused absence.
- A grade of no more than 90% will be given for all work that is one day late.
- No work will be accepted after 3 days late and a grade of 0% will be assigned.
- Exams may only be made up the day of return from an excused absence with a grade of no more than 90% given.
